Molly Tschang is the founder and CEO of Abella Consulting and Say It Skillfully® Inc., where she coaches executive teams to communicate with the candor and skill required to perform as a cohesive unit. A chemical engineering graduate of Cornell University with an MBA from UCLA Anderson, she spent the early part of her career inside large organizations — managing the integration of more than 80 acquisitions at Cisco and U.S. Filter — before turning that operational experience into a coaching and communication practice that now spans C-suites across industries.
Her framework centers on what she calls “Win as One”: the belief that organizations leave their greatest value unrealized not because of strategy or talent gaps, but because people at every level lack the skill and confidence to say what needs to be said. In 2017, she was selected from more than 12,000 applicants to join Marshall Goldsmith’s 100 Coaches pay-it-forward initiative — a relationship that eventually produced their co-authored book. She is also a certified Organization & Relationship Systems Coach (ORSC), a TEDx speaker, and the creator and host of the Say It Skillfully® podcast.
Tschang’s work is grounded in three levels of relationship intelligence: the relationship you have with yourself, with individual colleagues, and with the team system as a whole. She argues that psychological safety — the concept that has dominated management literature for the past decade — is a necessary but insufficient condition for candid communication. Safety creates the permission structure; skill delivers the actual words.
